Last updated: March 2026

Using Slate

By creating an account you agree to these terms. You must be at least 16 years old to use Slate. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity that happens under it.

Your content

You own the content you put on your cards. By publishing a card, you grant us a licence to host, serve, and process it — including generating QR codes, vCards, and email signatures — as part of delivering the service. You must not post content that is illegal, misleading, deceptive, or that impersonates another person or organisation, or infringes someone else's rights. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms.

Free trial

New accounts may be eligible for a 14-day free trial of the Pro plan. No credit card is required. The trial is limited to one per account. After the trial ends, your account reverts to the free plan unless you upgrade.

Payments and billing

Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually. All payments are processed by Stripe. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings, you will retain access until the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial periods.

Acceptable use

You may not use Slate to spam, scrape, or abuse the platform or other users. You may not use Slate to impersonate others or for fraudulent or deceptive purposes. Automated access without our permission is prohibited. Attempting to circumvent plan limits or access other users' data is grounds for immediate account termination.

Account suspension and termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, for any reason we deem fit, with or without notice. If your account is suspended and you believe this was in error, you can contact us at hello@getslate.me.

Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give reasonable notice.

Limitation of liability

Slate is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Slate after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
